Expert Catholic Funeral Planning

Points for consideration
Paradise offers a wide range of options and prices to suit the wishes of the deceased and the needs of the family.
Before choosing a service plan, family members can consider the following points to select the most suitable service plan.

1
Venue
The family can first decide where they wish the funeral service will be held. There are two options: at the mortuary or the funeral parlors.
There are a number of hospitals or public mortuaries that provide a comfortable room to conduct the service. Even when there is not a room, most of the hospitals or public mortuaries also have a semi-opened area to do so. With limited equipment and available time, mostly a short and simple service can be held there.
Most of the funeral parlors are well-equipped with various locations and features. Below are some aspects that family can take into considerations:
1)Booking rent
2)Capacity
2)Interior finish
3)Availability on the dates that are considered to
be good for holding a funeral
3
Number of Taoist Shifu
Families can choose the number of Taoist Shifu according to their needs, between one, four, six, nine or eleven Shifu to perform the ritual.
Taoist Shifu will also perform different types of rituals according to the deceased's age and cause of death.
2
Casket
There are four aspects that make caskets different, which are shape, material, color and decoration. We provide a variety of displays for the families to choose from. If there are any special requests,
we will also give a clear quotation before the families make their final decision.
4
Paper offering
In addition to the joss paper that is already included in our service plan, family members can choose different sets of paper offerings according to their needs. The essential paper offerings include the must-have and traditional items that will be used during the ritual. However, family members can also order other additional items, for example, mahjong with a table, racecourse and vehicles.
The Procedure of a Funeral
We pay respect and remember our loved one during a taoist funeral and hope our loved one is going to a peaceful place in our last shared moment.
Opening the Altar and Invoking Deities
Respectfully inviting deities to descend and protect the ceremony to ensure it proceeds smoothly.
Awakening the Spirit and Summoning the Soul
The Wake / Vigil Night
(Passing the Three Gates)
The Wake is the most important ceremony in the Taoist funeral process. It is officiated by "Naam Mou" masters (Taoist priests) and is commonly known as "Da Zhai" (performing rites). Its main purpose is to "open the way" for the deceased, chant scriptures for repentance, help cleanse their sins, and ensure a smooth transition to the other world:
Opening Scriptures and Repentance
Chanting sutras to repent for the sins committed by the deceased during their lifetime.
Breaking the Hell /
Five Road Lamps
This is a key ritual in Taoist funerals. Performed by a high priest, it symbolizes breaking open the gates of hell to lead the soul out of darkness.
Touring the Ten Courts and Bathing
Symbolizes the deceased undergoing judgment in the various courts of the underworld and having their soul cleansed (bathed).
Calling upon the soul of the deceased to come forward and receive the merits being performed.
Crossing the Gold and Silver Bridges
Symbolizes the deceased passing tests and stepping towards rebirth.
Sitting on the Lotus / Delivering Sutras / Sending off
The merits are complete; the soul is sent off to be reborn in the Pure Land.
Carrying the Banner and Buying Water
The eldest son or grandson is responsible for "Carrying the Banner," symbolizing leading the soul. "Buying Water" symbolizes the children cleansing the deceased's body, fulfilling their final act of filial piety.
Closing the Casket and Departure
Performing the final farewell. After viewing the remains, the coffin is sealed and transported to the final stop of the funeral.
The Funeral Procession (Grand Encoffining and Departure)
The Funeral Procession is the farewell stage of the Taoist funeral. It is the ceremony where family members accompany the deceased on their final journey, completing the most solemn final goodbye and demonstrating filial piety
Cremation or Burial Ceremony
En Fu (Service Provider Name) can assist in arranging the hearse transportation and the entire cremation or burial ceremony.
Removing Mourning Wear and Tying the Red Sash
At the end of the ceremony, family members remove their mourning clothes and change into (or put on) red/yellow accessories (Ying Hong), symbolizing the completion of the funeral and a return to daily life.
(Returning Home for House Cleansing):
Some families may perform a traditional house cleansing/blessing ritual upon returning home.
