Church Funeral Services by Paradise
Our Buddhist Funeral Ceremony is conducted by a Hong Kong Bhikkhuni or Monk Venerable who performs the Dharma Chanting and Sealing of the coffin. Upon the death of a Buddhist convert, volunteers from the Buddhist hall of his/her respective dojo/college will also form a chanting group to assist in the chanting at the funeral parlor.

On the night of the wake, senior monks will recite the “Three Times Chanting”, which means that the Buddha's power will be transferred to the deceased, while bhikkhunis will scatter flowers and release fireworks, and recite the Sutra of the Inverted Head, so that the deceased can be reborn under the Buddha's power or be reborn in the Pure Land.
Buddhist Funeral Procedures Led by Dharma Masters
Buddhist funeral rituals arranged by En Fu Funeral Services are led by virtuous Dharma Masters (monks or nuns). They facilitate the dedication of merit (Hui Xiang) for the deceased to assist in their rebirth into the Pure Land. The following are the core steps of the Buddhist funeral process
Near Death / Placement of the BodyWe facilitate 8–12 hours of Assisted Chanting ("Namo Amitabha") while the body rests undisturbed. This crucial Buddhist ritual helps the deceased maintain Right Mindfulness for rebirth in the Pure Land, often supported by volunteers from their affiliated temple.

Setting up the Altar / The Wake (Vigil)
A solemn altar is set with vegetarian offerings. High monks perform the Thrice Yearning (San Shi Xi Nian) to transfer merit, while Bhikkhunis conduct the Yankou ritual ("Releasing the Burning Mouth"). These scriptures guide the deceased toward rebirth in the Pure Land.
Encoffining (Placing into the Casket)
Dharma Talk & Coffin Sealing: A virtuous master delivers a sermon to help the deceased let go of attachments and eliminate karmic obstacles. This ritual stands as a deeply solemn and pivotal moment in the Buddhist funeral process.

Funeral Procession / Farewell CeremonyMemorial & Send-off: Masters lead chanting to dedicate merits (Hui Xiang) during the solemn Family and Public Memorials. We encourage families to maintain Right Mindfulness rather than excessive grief, ensuring a dignified transition for the deceased.
Cremation / Placement of Spirit Tablet
Final Farewell & Follow-up: Includes chanting at the cremation or burial site. Subsequent rituals like Doing the Sevens (Zuō Qī) and the 100 Days often feature the Ksitigarbha Sutra, completing the full cycle of the Buddhist funeral.
